Title: A RESEARCH ABOUT THE TV WATCHING HABITS AND CHOICE OF PROGRAM AND CHANNEL OF THE PRIVATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract: In this study there has been done a research on how the private university students use the television which is one of the most popular and powerful tool in traditional media. In the study there a survey exploring the television watching habits and program preferences of 650 non-scholarship university students who are in private university. The findings were analyzed with the television ratings of TNS Company in AB Socio economic target. In the final it was found that the findings of the questioner and the ratings of TNS company are similar in these two target groups. According to this both the private university students and the AB Socio-economic level television audience watch mostly the soap operas most and than news programs and contest programs in TV. According the findings the university students of private universities are watching TV about 2-3 hours daily, and prefer mostly to watch the national licensed TV channels. All the finding of the private university students are matching with the results of TNS's television ratings of AB Group.
